Alcoholism where does it begin? In young people (teenagers), it begins at the parties or drinking on the corner with the boys.

In adults it begins at family functions, the club, and the neighborhood bar. In young women, it usually begins with some kind of trauma or an unbearable event

That is the sign at the liquor store or delicatessen. The drinker can rarely pass it by.

It appears that the drinker is drinking in the evening, in the morning for breakfast and just a nip for lunch. It is characterized by a persistent, habitual use even in the face of a negative impact on the drinker's life.

The abuser drinks to get drunk. Drinks at social gatherings, often to excess. But the drinker usually has periods of sobriety.

Some people drink to prevent withdrawal, to become normal. An he drinks on happy or sad occasions. it has gotten so bad that the drinker, drinks when it rains, when the sun is out or any other daily event. The drinker drinks everyday without fail. The drinker will become ill and go into DTs without a l'il something to drink.

It is very difficult to determine whether a drinker is abusing or is truly addicted. There are some that can hold down a job and others who cannot.

It can lead people into serious trouble and can be physically and mentally destructive. It is involved in half of all crimes, murders,accidental, deaths (DUI) and suicide

In addition to problem drinking, the disease is characterized by symptoms including impaired control and, compulsive thoughts, and distorted thinking.

It can also lead indirectly, through excess consumption to physical dependence and diseases such as cirrhosis of the liver.

The risk of developing the disease depends on many factors, such as environment. Those with family history of are more likely to develop it themselves. However, many individuals have developed an addiction without a family history of the disease.

Since the consumption is necessary to develop the disease. The availability of and attitudes towards drinking in an individual's environment affect their likelihood of developing the disease.
